Flock Safety system is a "game changer" in Fort Worth
The short version: Flock's own channel reposts a KDFW puff piece calling its Fort Worth ALPR rollout a 'game changer,' with zero scrutiny of privacy tradeoffs.
Our Take
Notice who's doing the talking here: this clip comes straight from Flock Safety's own YouTube channel, repackaging a local KDFW news hit. That's not reporting, it's a marketing asset. When the company that sells the cameras is also the one curating the coverage, you should expect a highlight reel, not an investigation.
"Game changer" is doing a lot of work in that headline. Game changer for police convenience, sure. But nobody in these segments tends to ask who else gets access to that plate data, how long it's retained, whether it's shared with other agencies or federal databases, or what happens when the system misreads a plate and sends officers to the wrong car. Fort Worth residents are being told this is a win without ever hearing the other side of the ledger.
That's exactly the information gap DeFlock exists to close. Check our map to see where ALPR cameras are actually showing up in your area, and head to take-action if you want to push back on your city council before the next 'game changer' lands on your street.
