Those are reasonable asks, and they matter. That's not a footnote. It's proof that public pressure and scrutiny can actually roll back an ALPR deployment once officials, or residents, start asking hard questions about what these systems do and don't deliver. The resident's separate complaint — that people in her neighborhood weren't alerted during a law enforcement search — is a reminder that surveillance infrastructure is often sold as a public-safety fix while actual communication with residents lags behind.
