8 ALPR / FLOCK cameras, one intersection. See every angle covered.

The short version: One Cleveland intersection with eight Flock cameras shows how ALPR 'coverage' really means zero-angle-left surveillance of everyone who drives through.

Our Take

Credit to BanditKin for doing the tedious work of actually mapping this out — zooming from a citywide view down to a single intersection wearing eight separate ALPR cameras like a hood ornament. That's not traffic safety infrastructure, that's a fixed checkpoint recording every plate, every direction, every time of day, with no warrant and no driver ever asked for consent.

What this video makes visible is something Flock's marketing works hard to keep abstract: 'a few cameras around town' can mean total geometric coverage of a chokepoint, where there's no route through that doesn't get logged. Multiply that intersection by however many similar setups exist in a mid-size city and you get a de facto tracking grid built without a public vote on whether residents actually wanted their daily movements archived in a private company's database.

If you want to see whether your own commute runs through something like this, check our camera map and start pulling the thread on who approved it and why. If the answer is 'nobody really debated it,' that's exactly the kind of gap our take-action guide is built to help close.
