🔴LIVE: People protest outside of Dallas Police and Flock CEO Meeting
The short version: Dallas residents showed up to confront police and Flock's CEO directly, proof that ALPR pushback is moving from petitions to the streets.
Our Take
FOX 4's livestream from outside this Dallas Police/Flock meeting captures something we don't see often enough: ordinary residents showing up in person to tell a surveillance company's CEO that they're watching back. Credit to the FOX 4 team for covering it live rather than letting it pass as a footnote — these meetings happen in a lot of cities with little to no press in the room.
We don't know yet what commitments, if any, came out of this sit-down, and we're not going to speculate. What matters is the pattern: Dallas isn't unique. Flock cameras keep getting approved quietly through council votes and police department contracts, and the public pushback tends to arrive after the hardware is already bolted to the pole. A protest outside a closed-door meeting is a sign that residents feel locked out of a decision that affects their daily movements.
If you're in Dallas or anywhere near one of these deployments, check our camera map to see what's already watching your routes, and use our take-action resources to push for transparency before the next contract gets signed, not after.
