White County, TN

Contract Canceled  July 2026

The White County Commission voted July 20, 2026 to rescind the April 2025 resolution that authorized Flock license-plate cameras. UCNOW reported Chair Derrick Hutchings cited resident privacy pushback. In June the commission had already stripped about $48,000 in Flock funding while leaving the dollars in the sheriff’s budget. Hutchings said the sheriff’s office initiated the contract, cameras went up around September or October 2025, and they likely still collect data while standing. Sparta cameras are a separate city program.
