Waukee Police Chief Chad McCluskey announced August 14, 2026 that the department will not renew its Flock Safety ALPR contract and will stop using the cameras pending the 2027 Iowa legislative session. The Des Moines Register reported 11 cameras and that none had been vandalized locally. Waukee was the first Des Moines metro city reported to drop Flock; Coralville canceled earlier in 2026.
