Tempe announced August 26, 2026 that it turned off its Flock ALPR system, will end its contract with Flock, and will not seek a replacement vendor. AZFamily reported about 33 city cameras, that no new plate data is being collected, and that residents may still see hardware until Flock removes it. Mayor Corey Woods said the risk of misuse is too great. The city had already cut automatic Flock data sharing on August 10.
