Contract Canceled August 2026
Gardner City Council on August 17, 2026 agreed to turn off the city’s Flock cameras immediately and not renew the contract. KMBC reported August 18 that some cameras were covered by Tuesday, and that Gardner Police confirmed it discontinued all city Flock cameras and notified the vendor the contract was canceled. Council member Kelly Johnson said the vote covers only city-controlled cameras, not Johnson County or state units nearby. Resident Bradley Steinmetz of No Flock in Gardner said more than 1,200 vendors had access through the Flock system.
