Franklin County, FL

Contract Canceled  September 2026

Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith deactivated about 26 leased Flock cameras effective September 1, 2026 after Florida DOT ordered license plate readers off state highways within 30 days and Gov. Ron DeSantis urged removal. WJHG reported most county cameras were on state roadways; the sheriff's office also shut off county right-of-way units Smith said Flock owns and the county leased. Okaloosa, Liberty, Calhoun, and Walton counties made similar moves. Private-property Flock cameras are not covered by the FDOT memo.
